My personal experience has come from being in consulting and advisory roles for many years and being exposed to a large variety of customer problems. This has allowed me to explore numerous cloud providers and their unique service offerings. The goal is an understanding of the customer objectives and roadmap, this will give a clear picture of the strategy to propose which could include multi cloud. Having clear expectations on customer budget and understanding of cloud consumption will help a customer decide on which is the best solution but also the journey to migrate into cloud. It all starts with a full assessment of their environment to determine what is cloud capable and from there, develop migration plans and/or modernization efforts.

Evaluate specific needs and work with a Niche firm to address your most pressing concerns. Focus on critical path to success versus a complete outsourcing model. This will allow you to test the partners capabilities but also help build a relationship with the chosen partner and develop a roadmap the meets your financial objectives. Outsourcing is not a “one shoe fits all” model and as a smaller org, your margin for error is minimal and can cause a drastic financial impact if your process is not well planned.

It’s best to always evaluate a concept and build a use case that can be showcased to the broader audience and leadership. This will bridge the gap with data driven facts on why a decision being made could be the right or wrong one for the organization. Once you have clarity on the direction, you can have proper buy-in on the approach and solution. Key is ensuring stakeholders are involved from the most earliest stages possible.

For a successful IT outsourcing project, first establish clear objectives and a detailed scope. This means clearly identifying your goals, such as reducing costs or gaining specialized skills, and specifying the tasks, timelines, and quality standards expected of the outsourcing partner. Choosing the right partner is equally important. Conduct thorough research on potential candidates by reviewing their past projects and client feedback. A partner that aligns with your company’s culture and values, and demonstrates effective communication skills, is key to preventing misunderstandings and ensuring a smooth collaboration.

Asses risk based on application and data managed by the application. Also determining if an application is cloud ready in advance will help you make better decisions on the risk profile of the environment such as where the application will be accessed from, geographical concerns and regulations, and network architecture required for the application to run across an enterprise.

Hard and broad question. Answer is it depends on the type of performance you are trying to measure or issue you might be having. It could be an application that is not properly optimized for consumption of server resources, number of concurrent users or as simple as server load balancing. In any case, machine learning can help determine root cause on server utilization and self remediate. This is the best tool/tactic in such scenarios.
