I've contributed to my own alma mater by volunteering extensively for the Indiana University Alumni Association as President of the NYC, Metro NY Chapter and as a two-term member of the Alumni Executive Council on the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging committee. I've contributed to my own alma mater by volunteering extensively for the Indiana University Alumni Association as President of the NYC, Metro NY Chapter and as a two-term member of the Alumni Executive Council on the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging committee. Volunteering for Indiana University as one of about 20 chapter leaders, I focus my expertise on arts, culture, with Broadway watches and tours of the Met with IU alumni actors and experts, as well as alumni shared-identity group volunteering for the LGBTQIA Alumni Association hosting annual NYC Pride and with the AAPI Alumni Association as a mentor for Asian students who seek guidance on how to work toward a career goal in NYC. I also work hand in hand with the Bloomington Office, and occasionally with the Big Apple-Big Ten chapter, to host game watches for IU Football and Men’s Basketball game watches at our IU Bar in NYC. This past November was a busy month for us as the Metro NY Chapter hosted an alumni event featuring alumni Shanta Thake (Lincoln Center) and Arian Moayed (Succession), a Broadway watch with alumni involved in the Broadway Musical A Beautiful Noise, and IU Hoosier Hangouts and Game Watches at the Empire State Classic at Madison Square Garden, not to mention IU’s takeover of Times Square introducing IU and its President Pamela Whitten to the NYC community. Most important to me has been to engage our 14,000 NYC/NJ/CT members through e-news of alumni achievement from business to Broadway.
