“I had the pleasure of working with Joel for about a year, fairly early in his career, until I moved on from that company. At the time he was a junior software engineer on a team that collaborated with the software engineering team that I directed. I worked closely with him on a daily basis as I was building a brand new team that adopted legacy systems that he had most recently been responsible for. Although "junior" at that time, Joel never really performed at a junior level, as he was always a respected authority and mentor, both regarding the company's systems as well as his technical expertise in general. He is extremely intelligent and an impeccable problem solver and coder. He is very dedicated, significantly self-driven, highly reliable, and has a great personal interest in his field on his own time. I would welcome any opportunity to work with Joel again in the future.”
