    Feed My Starving Children

    Children

FMSC is not a "feet on the ground in the third world" experience but it is an essential link in the chain for getting people in the third world fed. When you volunteer at FMSC you repackage nutritious grains and mixes into family-sized packages for distribution. It is production line work with a heart and soul.

  • Mobility Project

    -

This project began in 2009 with the Chicago Buddhist Vihara. We collected used mobility devices--wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and other medical equipment which were shipped to Sri Lanka to aid victims of the 30-year civil war. The equipment was given to both Sinhalese and Tamil people--nobody was excluded because of which side of the conflict they were on. Victims are victims and everybody deserves help.

    Micro-Lender

    - Present

Kiva connects donors to people seeking micro-loans for worthy projects such as stabilizing a small farming operation, securing a better dwelling for a family or launching a small business. Currently I am one of a group of people who have made a small loan to a family farmer in Cambodia to help fund an education for one of his children. Kiva has agents all over the world who manage micro-loans on behalf of lenders like me.
