Traditionally, the Key to the City is an esteemed symbol of civic recognition and gratitude reserved for individuals whose service to the public and the common good rise to the highest level of achievement. I accepted this on behalf of the entire Capital Factory community.

The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce 2019 Volunteers of the Year went above and beyond in supporting the Chamber's mission with their time and talents. They have enhanced the business community's efforts to take on the biggest challenges facing business in Austin.

To qualify for the TOP TEN Diversity Champion an individual must exemplify an unyielding commitment to equity throughout their career and they must operate at an executive level. They must have a stellar reputation, be a resident or work in Central Texas and have a history of actively paving the way to success for others.

The program supports selected Scholars through a combination of mentorship, peerlearning activities, a grant to fund a key scale active of the scholars choosing, and enhanced connectivity across the Aspen Institute.

The program is built on the belief that entrepreneurs are great at starting businesses, but the skills needed to effectively scale these innovations are very different. The program aims to bridge this “scaling gap” by channeling the expertise of a senior mentor towards the challenges the Fellow faces. The mentorship is defined by this specific mandate to focus on key scale challenges identified at the outset of the relationship. Scholars and mentors commit to spending at least one hour per month, having “board level” conversation. The Scholar class meets at least once annually to mobilize the wider Scholar and Mentor network as a broader advisory community. Show less
