Excellence in Social Media winner for "When the Lights Go Out: Preparing the Bay Area for Power Shutoffs," a project that provided crucial reporting on the PG&E shutoffs and offered audiences a space to engage with KQED’s reporters.

The Online News Association honored and recognized the dedication and industry impact of the Journalists of Color Slack administrators Lo Bénichou, Julia B. Chan, Tauhid Chappell, Erik Reyna, Lam Thuy Vo, Sisi Wei and Aaron Williams, with the ONA Community Award.

"America's Digital Dumping Ground" wins Best News Documentary in the Small Digital News Organization category for Region 14.

"The Wall" multimedia package wins for Excellence in Audio Digital Storytelling in the Large Newsroom category.

Reveal episode "Standing Rock and beyond" wins in the Medium Newsroom category for Topical Reporting.

Julia B. Chan and Scott Pham won for their Reveal piece, “Portraits of A Trump Supporter.” Producing a multimedia project that would publish 10 months before the 2016 presidential election, judges said that the pair “nailed the big story that the rest of America would be talking about.”

“My four months as a private prison guard,” a multi-platform investigation based on Shane Bauer’s reporting, was nominated for a national Emmy Award in the “Outstanding New Approaches: Current News” category.

Julia was one of 25 women leaders selected from a pool of nearly 350 applicants to attend ONA's 2017 Women’s Leadership Accelerator.

Each participant presented a unique problem in their careers which they will focus on throughout the course of the Accelerator, to be held Feb. 5-10, 2017 at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in Los Angeles.

"Assault on Justice" – a project by Reveal, WAMU88.5 News and the Investigative Reporting Workshop was honored as a 2015 finalist.

Project "Criminalizing Kids" was a finalist in the Investigative Reporting category for General News Outlet with Medium Staff.

"Subsidized Squalor" was a collaborative project by The Center for Investigative Reporting, San Francisco Chronicle, KQED News, RAW Talent and The Off/Page Project. It was named as a finalist in the "Multiplatform – Large" category.
