Using the platform established by the UCLA Alumni Association, I mentor current UCLA students through discussion of their interests, passions, and academic experiences and sharing of my own background and professional experiences.

Read to a Child brings together professionals and elementary school-age children once a week where the professional reads to his/her buddy. Reading to children is shown to boost academic performance and reading comprehension among other things. Currently, I currently volunteer at 10th Street Elementary in the Pico-Union section of Los Angeles, where many of the students are either children of non-native English speakers or are themselves non-native English speakers.

The Society is an international, Catholic volunteer organization that serves the needy of any religious background free of charge. We were founded in Paris, France in 1833 by a compassionate college student, Frederic Ozanam, and for over 100 years our Vincentian volunteers have served the suffering in Southern California. College MAP is a program sponsored by Ernst & Young where professionals from the firm mentor junior and senior-year high school students from high schools, many of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds and almost all of whom will be the first in their families to attend college, through the college application process, including finding and applying for financial aid, registering for the SAT's, and composing personal statements and essays.

As committee of young alumni (10 or less years from graduation), we work to keep other young alumni connected to UCLA and to encourage them keep UCLA in mind when planning their philanthropy. We give because we are Bruins.
