Your thought leadership is questioned by a senior executive. How can you assert your expertise effectively?
Just because you are a subject matter expert (SME) doesn’t mean you can relay that information effectively to your audience. It’s critical to identify your audience's needs, education, and experiences on the topic. One powerful way to do this is with case studies or evidence. By sharing detailed real world examples of how your solutions have impacted similar clients or industries, you can demonstrate your proficiency in a relatable manner. Remember you still need to speak at the level and detail appropriate to your audience. Focus on highlighting specific challenges, actions, and measurable outcomes. This approach will showcases your expertise allowing your audience to relate to you and more importantly build trust with you.
