How can you address intersectionality in the recruiting process?
Every single morning, I send an email to any candidate I'm working with that has an interview that day, confirming they're still good to go, and reminding them who they'll be meeting with, for how long, and the main subject areas the interview will focus on. It's something we cover during the initial Recruiter screen, but folks usually are interviewing with multiple companies, and I view it as my job to help candidates put their best foot forward without "leading the witness".

Scorecards, scorecards, scorecards. Working with a Hiring Manager to build a thorough and comprehensive interview process that EVERY candidate goes through (sourced, applicants, referrals, all of them), where every interview step's evaluation criteria is defined, and explained to the involved interviewer.

How can you address intersectionality in the recruiting process?
We all need to accept we all have biases, no matter how much training and intentionality we bring to the Recruitment table. Higher education, company profiles, tenure, location, and so many more. Standardization has been the most effective way to cut through these in my experience. Blind sourcing platforms (ie. removing profile pictures and names from LI Recruiter searches), templated interviews, scorecard systems, all of these can help ensure a fair and even playing field.
