Master's Thesis: The Effect of Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) Component Alignment and Ligament Properties on Passive Kinematics

For this thesis I designed a Total Knee Arthroplasty passive range of motion model in a program called SIMM. This model was based on experimental measurements of a subject's bones during surgery. I validated this model to experimental motion data of how the femur moved with respect to the tibia during surgery. I then performed a parametric study varying component alignment and ligament slack lengths, and investigated the knee kinematic effects of component alignment.
