    Mobile is an important part of business, and I was asked to be part of the first-of-its-kind Task Force organized by the National Retail Federation Integrated Mobile Initiative (IMI). IMI is a single source of information addressing the important challenges and opportunities within mobile retailing.

    The National Retail Federation CMO Council is a committee for retail advertising and marketing executives, and created from the former Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA). I have served as a Board Member, and am now Chairman of the Board, and help provide unique networking opportunities, along with educational programming for the council.

  • Literacy USA

    Literacy has always been an important issue, and it's what pushed me to create Literacy USA, a national coalition of regional literacy organizations. I was the first member of its corporate advisory board, and remain supportive by speaking on literacy topics across the country. Through these efforts I have also consulted with the Department of Education on adult literacy initiatives.

    In the new century, in the new economy, the customer is in charge. They can go anywhere they choose, anytime. I took on positions as a Board Member, and then as Chairman of the Board for the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA) to help retailers understand how to use marketing to reach consumers on a one-to-one basis, along with delivering the value and satisfaction to keep customers coming back. RAMA became part of the National Retail Federation in 2014.

    As an Advisory Board Member for the Global Retail Marketing Association (GRMA), I guide and shape the future focus and strategy of the GRMA as a whole. The GRMA is a resource dedicated to developing better business leaders and affecting positive change in the industry and society.
