    In the context of a national conversation about post-World War I propaganda, this study examined The New York Times coverage of the Reich’s propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels in 1933, the year the Nazis seized power and I. G. Farben retained U.S. public relations man Ivy Lee. Two peak months of stories (April and November), mostly filed from abroad, coincided with Goebbels’s consolidation of power and corroborated many of the insights that emerged from that conversation.
