Your client is struggling with workplace conflicts. How can you help them navigate the situation effectively?
I think before any of these recommendations, it's important to be aware that you've been triggered. I teach my clients how to recognize their triggers in real-time, take a step back to reframe their thoughts to be more productive, and drop into curiosity about the other party's perspective. Opening up the conversation to understand where the other person is coming from, not to change their mind, but to truly understand, changes the whole mood of the situation and allows for both parties to come to the table neutrally.

You're struggling to balance accountability and support in coaching. How can you find the right approach?
I'd probably ask an open-ended question to get my client thinking. Something like, I'm noticing some inconsistencies with following the steps we've outlined to reach your goals. What's up with that? Typically pointing out the inconsistency is enough to get them to share the thought error that has them stuck. From there we can get them back on track pretty quickly.

Your coachee is resisting a coaching style change. How can you effectively navigate this challenge?
I'm not sure why you would change your coaching style for a client, unless they've specifically asked you to. Coaching is about meeting people where they are, and matching your coaching style accordingly. If your client is resisting a change in your coaching style, it might be because you pivoted before they were ready.
