Your salary negotiation is dragging on. How do you keep your frustration in check?
Working mostly with startups - I find the delay might be lack of understanding compensation pieces and their potentials (in worse case and best case scenarios). Using visuals and sharing all necessary information critical. Ultimately, a company can put their best offer forward and if just not reaching common ground, it may ultimately mean there just isn't a fit. Drawn out negotiations quite often mean that the candidate is struggling to get the family to be okay with the decision. Ultimately it is about there being a fit from both company and candidate perspectives so frustration should not need to be part of this process.

Led by a dedicated team of caring professionals who embrace a servant leadership philosophy, New Haven supports the “whole person” development of troubled youth as we guide them from despair to hope. The Friends are a volunteer group that raise funds which more than doubled from $20,000 to over $40,000 net in a…
New Haven Youth and Family Services is transforming lives for at-risk adolescent boys through an innovative education model that develops life/work skills in a healthy environment. Led by a dedicated team of caring professionals who embrace a servant leadership philosophy, New Haven supports the “whole person” development of troubled youth as we guide them from despair to hope. The Friends are a volunteer group that raise funds which more than doubled from $20,000 to over $40,000 net in a couple of years to now raising in excess of $140k. We apply those funds to programs that help the boys of New Haven experience "life" events that make them feel loved such as celebrating their birthday and Christmas, welcoming them when they arrive with items they will need, events they can earn (anywhere from surfing, sporting events to fishing, etc.), to specific programs we help launch such as culinary program, remodeling of the main campus, etc. Our funds help fill the gaps the organization needs and can't obtain through other funding sources.
