You're in a temporary job interview and the interviewer is being difficult. What's your next move?
Great advice Bedilia! A technique I offer to all candidates who have an difficult interviewer is to end a couple of their answers with question to engage the interviewer in more of a conversation rather than a question/answer test. For example, they ask a ‘tell me about a time’ situational question and the candidate should finish their answer then immediately before another question is asked of them say “I’m glad you asked about that, can you give me an example of a recent time you handled a similar situation with your team and how you resolved it?”

You're looking to advance your career. What's the best way to stand out in a crowded job market?
Who you know and who you ask for help will always be the most effective strategy. Referrals or introductions help you, and your resume get seen and avoid being overlooked in an inbox. Introductions are also best when you want to learn more about a company or to connect with an employee that might help you with a referral when a job at your target company opens up. It is a good practice to offer your help in kind at the end of your message when you ask someone for their help.
