Your sales team is questioning lead quality. Can you maintain lead quantity without sacrificing quality?
The most important thing to do in improving the quality and quantity of visitors to your website is to target effectively. Identify the ICP, make sure you are aligned with sales, market to those buyer needs. But, **you will still never be able to tell the good leads from the bad if you continue to focus on one lead at a time.** B2B buying is done by group (avg 10 people), all of whom will visit your website while in market. Look for multiple concurrent leads from the same org, but, even more importantly, mine your anonymous traffic for evidence that others are there from the same companies. Then multithread-prospect into those accounts. Of the 10 people on a buying team, 2 will fill in your forms. Think about that.

The most innovative lead generation tools for B2B do not generate 'leads.' They generate opportunities that sometimes have 'leads' attached and sometimes don't. Leads - when they are equated with people reading content on your website - are a false flag in B2B. They point you in the wrong direction. What we all need to be looking at is evidence that a B2B buying group is demonstrating sustained interest. When we detect that through third-party intent, anonymous website traffic, and people who have filled out forms to attend events and the like, then we have a real 'lead' on a selling opportunity. Stop chasing and harrassing individuals who just want to know about what you offer out of professional curiousity.

When buying groups have hundreds of interactions with you, the vendor, and when most of those interactions are digital, you have a very rich data source to use to identify patterns in interaction that explain why some prospects became customers and why they didn't. As Bruce points out, that data is only useful if it is stored and analyzed to identify those patterns. And as long as you are still trying to identify 'the touch' to attribute value to, you are never going to understand what is working and what is not.
