How Remote Work Affects Metal Fabrication Shops
The Fabricator
This article examines two fictitious sheet metal fabricators and their ability to manage business operations and production when hit with market disruptions. The one manufacturer has a semi-connected business system while the other has a fully connected business enterprise. This article explores how each shop manages an order - from request for quote through shipping - pre-COVID and during shutdowns and what having connected business enterprises means for fabricators beyond COVID.
