University Social Media Policy
Impact Magazine
Because Arcadia University is a global institution with staff across the nation and around the world, we faced another unique challenge in drafting a social media policy. In the wake of several court cases and scandals happening in social media in the U.S., it was important to take into consideration staff worldwide subject to international rules and laws. Clearly, creating a solid social media strategy and integrating it into our everyday existence was an immediate need.

ARCADIA 2025 is a strategy intended to help us experiment, take initiative, ask questions, create synergies, and move Arcadia ahead in often unknown and unknown environments. Today, disruptions in higher education, and we must create an agile organization that doesn’t merely withstand external pressure—we must grow from disruption.

Arcadia Magazine Redesign
-
Implemented a complete re-design of the Arcadia magazine. Beginning with the magazine's editorial strategy, each section of the publication was evaluated and restructured, setting the basic goal of better informing and engaging the community. The redesign started with the guidance from an Arcadia Alumni Communications group, and expertise from B & G Design Studios, all guiding University Communications and helping develop the final publication you see today.

Completed the project with the firm Spark451, the process involved a complex information architecture, creating multimedia and rewriting all new content, integrating html5 video into a fully responsive site built in Drupal 7. The team conceptualized and built innovative functionality within the site to engage prospective students, including a Program Finder, subsite options, news mosaic, and dynamic page designs. The intranet portal My.Arcadia was designed to enable information groups (staff, students, trustees, faculty) and personalized user widgets to create your own dashboard.

"Light Up the Knight": We Think BIG Drone Show
CASE Circle of Excellence Awards
From the Judges: Many of the panel members cited this as one of their favorite entries for its great use of budget dollars to create something elaborate, like a drone show. The judges also discussed how this model could be leveraged at other schools and the increased sustainability of something like a drone show over fireworks. The panel very much liked the student involvement, which highlighted the marriage of arts and technology.

Fall of 2018 unveiled the final phase of an ongoing public art project at the Glenside Train Station. The project spanned for more than three years, from planning to implementation, and partnered Arcadia University’s students, faculty, and staff with Cheltenham Township, the Downtown Glenside Business Partnership, and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
From the Judges
This project was truly a collaborative effort that spoke to the university’s history of bringing art into the public domain. The project required not only an artistic/creative component but a business/entrepreneurial effort on behalf of the students—a lesson for the students that also impacted the community. The combination of owned and earned media brought life to the project. Bits and Pieces is more than a mural, and this was clear throughout the entry materials. -
