Amplify Latinx is a non-partisan, collaborative convener that builds Latinx economic and political power by significantly increasing Latinx civic engagement and representation in leadership positions across sectors. At their 3rd annual Amplify Conference, I volunteered as staff and supported registration efforts as well as worked with attendees to guide them.

Over 40% of all college graduates fail to land a good first job, yet the cost of college and student loan debt continues to rise. Landing a good first job typically requires good information on career pathways and social capital, but low-income students typically don't have access to social and professional networks, or to internships and other opportunities that lead to these jobs. In addition, too many young people don't know about the wide variety of jobs in Greater Boston and beyond, or… Show more

In addition, too many young people don't know about the wide variety of jobs in Greater Boston and beyond, or don't know enough about careers that interest them to make an informed decision.

Career Guides help fill that critical information gap. They provide low-income students and first-generation college-goers with information about their unique career pathway, including the education/training and experiences they pursued along the way. As a result, they expand students’ vision of their own potential and the world of careers, including how to enter them. Show less

As a member of the hosting committee, I helped organize the annual Pass the Wagon Fundraiser and primarily served in outreach which included social media, email marketing, graphic design, and donation solicitation as well as day-of decor and planning.

Through the implementation of 5 successful events over 4 months, I worked towards fundraising $2,000 to provide medical equipment and supplies for the Cystic Fibrosis Ward at the hospital. All donations went through the comfort and education of children and the support of teenagers who have graduated from the pediatric program.

I served as a big sister to a 9-year-old girl and took her on weekly outings, helped with her homework, and cultivated creative learning experiences for her. This included heavy communication with the organization as well as the girl's mother.
