“Inspiring and driven (not to mention super smart!) are the words that come to mind when I think about Lauren. I had the pleasure of working with Lauren for nearly two years, before leaving for business school, with her acting as my direct supervisor. About a month after I joined Guidewheel full-time, she relocated to California to kick-start our series A fundraise while I took full leadership for our East Africa market right at the start of the new Covid world. Despite the distance and new work-remote culture, I never once felt like she was out of reach. She was always available and willing to make time to support with even the smallest of tasks. This accessibility extended to everyone in the team, regardless of rank. Lauren’s love for her work, can-do attitude towards new ideas/skills, and unrelenting drive to provide solutions for problems is unparalleled. She views the world through a lens of never-ending curiosity, approaches every challenge with optimism, and every perceived failure as a learning opportunity. These are just a few in the long list of values she inspires in her team, alongside a deep appreciation for the contributions of each teammate and a profound devotion to deliver exemplary service for customers. Besides the great (and diverse) global talent that supported our successful fundraise - as well as a strong belief in the vision and potential of the company - new teammates have joined simply to get to work with, and learn alongside, Lauren. I know this to be true because I joined for the very same reasons.
