See publicationA study of women's roles in Hollywood Cinema challenging Laura Mulvey's "gaze theory" and the accepted notion that the camera is always male. By examining twentieth century Holocaust cinema I reveal that it is, in fact, the women in these films that are the only candidates for suture to occur between audience and on screen characters.
