Join us to learn how the Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute at the University of Texas at Austin (KS WEL) leveraged Civic Dinners to foster meaningful connections in the midst of a pandemic. During our event, we will explore the impact of this partnership and highlight how you can create a virtual event that will leave participants feeling connected, optimistic, and motivated.

“As we planned our inaugural Women’s Summit and were challenged by the limitations of a virtual event, we realized that the event lacked the feeling of connection and togetherness that live events offer. We knew that many students and community members signed up for the Summit in order to network and interact with like-minded, hard working, passionate women in the entrepreneurial sphere. When we discovered Civic Dinners, we knew it would be the perfect enhancement to make a virtual event feel a little more intimate and intentional.” - Eva, Marketing & Events, Senior Intern

The inaugural event was such a success that the KS WEL Institute used our conversation model again to celebrate International Women’s Day 2021.

This webinar will explore the impact of the KS WEL and Civic Dinners partnership, highlighting how the pair worked together to empower and embolden young women to lead in meaningful ways. Join us to learn how this event left participants “feeling connected and optimistic — reminded as women that we’ve got a network waiting to support us.”

2020 has been a rollercoaster of events and emotions, and Nietzsche reminds us that what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. As we embrace the new virtual age and distanced-everything, there is no better time to experience and develop what great leadership looks like through virtual mentorship!

Join HERdacity on Thursday, December 17th, as Lesley Robinson encourages the sleeping leader within many of us to utilize our passions for a greater purpose: bringing up the next generation. Lesley will show us how to utilize technology to create long-term success that virtually engages both the mentor and the mentee. We will also explore the differences between the ever-changing roles of mentor, mentee, coach, and cheerleader, and how leadership mentorship must include each of these.

    In this webinar, you’ll:
    - Learn strategies for embracing remote relationships and how virtual mentorship can be an opportunity for career development.
    - Understand how technology can aid in relationship building for both the mentor and mentee.
    - Define the different, but overlapping, roles of mentor, mentee, coach, and cheerleader, and why each is important in leadership mentorship.

Lesley Robinson supports women entrepreneurs every day as inaugural director of the Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute at UT Austin. She’s also working to redefine what leadership and entrepreneurship looks like by bolstering diversity, inclusivity and empowerment.

    What is your leadership style?
My leadership motto is: “You do you. I got you.” I believe in creating bold, safe and brave spaces and encouraging others to be authentic. I strive to create communities of care where a sense of belonging is central to building inclusivity. I have worked over the years to redefine leadership and entrepreneurship by building a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community; encouraging creativity and innovation; representing that idea of: “If you can see her, you can be her.”

    How do you give back?
My impact is teaching students, especially women, on their own journeys — helped by my experiences and pathways from 15 years as an international educator. Because of the communities I am part of, I am inspired to mentor and strengthen the next generation of courageous, creative female leaders.
