When Becca Hayes and Perla Nunes reached out to me about this exciting opportunity, I jumped at the chance to get involved. They invited me to collaborate with FDA OMHHE and the NCCHCA on their clinical trial equity initiatives in North Carolina. Without hesitation, I enthusiastically accepted, thrilled to contribute to such important work alongside these esteemed organizations.

Crisis Text Line is a free, 24/7 text line for people in crisis in the United States. The service is powered by volunteer Crisis Counselors who work remotely—anywhere with a computer and secure internet connection works.

Crisis Counselors answer texts from people in crisis, bringing them from a hot moment to a cool calm through active listening, collaborative problem solving, and safety planning.

I participated in the St. Baldrick's fundraiser in 2017 and 2018.

For two years I have shaved my head to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

I, along with several of my Cisco colleagues traveled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to participate in a community outreach program called PACT. The PACT program is a four-day training taught by Subject Matter Experts from STEM companies to 100 Haitian Students hosted by Foundation of the World. This workshop covered the following areas:

I, along with several of my Cisco colleagues traveled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to participate in a community outreach program called PACT. The PACT program is a four-day training taught by Subject Matter Experts from STEM companies to 100 Haitian Students hosted by Foundation of the World. This workshop covered the following areas:

1. VoIP
2. Network Security
3. Virtualization
4. Professional Development

The first day consisted of the opening ceremony, where we worked with our sponsors to invite high-ranking officials (local government in the technological area, Cisco customers, executives of the host institution, channel partners, etc.). The remainder of the week focused on the technical workshop. Our goal was to work with a group of 100 Haitian students and train them in all four areas during the four days. At the end of the week, each student had participated in the workshops in each of the four workshops. The key component was students spending most of their time actively learning through laboratories in each of the areas mentioned. Show less

Delivered hot meals to North Carolina residents, who had been affected by Hurricane Matthew.

Led Cisco's RTP team in the 2016 and 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Raleigh/Durham (Triangle), NC.

Volunteered with members from my team at Cisco, to sort, fold, and pack clothing, to be distributed to children at local schools.

Volunteered at Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC with my colleagues at Cisco. Sorted and bagged nearly 7000 lbs. of apples.

I volunteered with The Salvation Army to collect, organize, and deliver toys, clothes, and food to families during the holiday season.

Barbara Marshall, a Navy veteran, was fighting to end homelessness among her fellow female veterans. This formidable woman established The Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House in Fayetteville using her own money. Jubilee House offers shelter, support and services such as mentoring and life coaching to homeless female veterans. Barbara's life is dedicated to these women... they are her mission, her family, her passion. Unfortunately, Jubilee House needed additional space and resources. I volunteered… Show more
