“For five years, Lisa and I worked together as peer leaders of HR Business Partner teams at Nielsen, rolling up under the same portfolio of businesses. Often as a result of organizational shifts related to the nature of the businesses we supported, her client groups would become mine (and vice versa). We also worked collaboratively on projects related to talent management, compensation, and organizational effectiveness. So, to say we worked together closely would be an understatement. In the whole of my career to date, I have never met a stronger or more exemplary leader in my field than Lisa. Some things that stood out to me about who Lisa is as a person and a professional: Lisa has an incredibly high bar for excellence. When she was responsible for delivering, she demonstrated tremendous ownership and (respectfully) held others accountable for the same. Lisa was a model for collaboration, and was really good at being the connective tissue between two parties to a similar business challenge when conflicts arose. Lisa was always business-focused and she was relentlessly focused on what really mattered: her clients. Her ability to "take a step back" and look at the bigger picture of what we were trying to solve for, and organize others around that imperative, was incredible. Finally, Lisa was intellectually curious: she was invested in her own learning and that of others she coached and she was tremendously humble. I learned a lot from working alongside her, and I carry many "Lisa-isms" with me today that serve as frameworks for my own decision-making. I truly can't imagine a threshold to her capability.”
