First place award in the Broadcast Radio Feature category for radio news report, “Strong Economy Keeping All Asset Classes Riding High, ULI Outlook Audience Told,” which incorporated excerpts of comments by nearly a dozen speakers at a real estate conference in Philadelphia.

First place, Memorial Journalism Awards, ENG News category, for video news story, “Unique Housing for Seniors,” a video news story about a unique housing project being built in Cherry Hill, NJ, aimed at seniors and developmentally disabled adults.

Second-place award for an in-studio TV interview with former New Jersey Gov. James J. Florio, “Former NJ Governor Florio Sees Urban Development as Key to State’s Economy.”

A report on the newly installed Carvana.com “car vending machine” entitled “Online Auto Retailer Carvana Places Car Vending Machine in Philadelphia,” received a second place award in the ENG News or PR Camera Personnel category.

A second place award in the Radio Spot News category for two live reports produced for BBC-owned radio stations in Ireland, describing the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial in Norristown, PA.

A third-place award in the Radio Feature category for “Industrial Attention Shifting to South Jersey,” an interview with David Greek of F. Greek Development, which builds warehouses, distribution centers, and other logistics facilities, during a conference in Jersey City last June.

First-place award in the Broadcast Radio General News category for a news report, “Fight for Hackensack redevelopment liquor district,” which featured interviews with local business leaders and lawmakers about efforts to create a special limited liquor license to boost retail and residential development in downtown Hackensack, Bergen County.

Broadcast Radio Feature category, SBN won second place for an interview with Joseph F. Coradino, chairman and CEO of PREIT, a Philadelphia-based publicly traded real estate investment trust that owns more than 22 million square feet of retail shopping malls in the eastern half of the US.

Second-place award for a news feature about the announcement of a new Chickie’s & Pete’s sports pub in Evesham Township, Burlington County.

A third place award for a radio report on how the Philadelphia chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) is mentoring high school students in the Youth Build Philadelphia program.

SBN News Director Steve Lubetkin won a first-place award in the Broadcast Radio General News category for his radio news report, “Three former governors on jobs, schools, public safety,” which featured extended interviews with three former New Jersey governors, Thomas Kean, James Florio, and James McGreevey. The video report, which documents a tour of the decommissioned Fort Monmouth military base in Monmouth County, was among four entries honored in the TV Feature category.

The firm won a Silver JASPER Award in the “Television and Video – Video News Release” category, for two video news reports it prepared on behalf of PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.

One video news report featured a formal prom event held at the hospital for patients of all ages, including several teens who were missing their own high school prom because of treatment at the hospital.

The other report featured the hospital’s window washing company, whose workers volunteered to dress as Spiderman and Batman while rappelling down the side of the hospital, providing young patients with a surprise diversion from physical therapy and other treatments. The two superheroes also toured the hospital and posed for photos with the children and their families.

Silver JASPER Award in the "Television/Video TV Special Programming" category for a documentary about the dedication of a new Torah scroll by Philadelphia-based Congregation Mikveh Israel, the second oldest synagogue in North America. The video captures the special “siyyum” ceremony to mark the completion of the scroll by a special scribe known as a sofer and includes interviews with the sofer, remarks by the synagogue’s rabbi, Rabbi Albert Gabbai, and shows scenes from the celebration.
