“Maggie is an incredibly talented professional whose expertise includes training, curriculum development, career coaching, and more. She is comfortable adapting to new industries, as she did when transitioning from higher ed to working in tech, as well as new departments and teams. While she thrives in an environment where she can be proactive, process-oriented, and organized, she would rather not be the expert in the room if there is something she can learn, or a new skill she can master. In situations where Maggie isn’t the subject matter expert, she has a unique ability to build networks of collaborators who are eager to support her. Her ability to develop these genuine relationships is impressive, but not surprising, since she is non-judgmental, open-minded, and eager to make people feel comfortable showing up as their authentic self. One of the things I value and admire about Maggie is that she maintains her relationships through consistent, honest, and direct communication. On several occasions, Maggie has had to deliver unfortunate news or difficult feedback to me. Rather than avoiding the topic or sugarcoating, she communicated using facts and examples to illustrate her concerns and their potential impact. However, she also acknowledged the human aspects of the situation and never failed to check in about how she could support me or how we might move forward. I have benefitted from Maggie’s expertise countless times, making her my most trusted advisor when I’m faced with a challenge. She provides feedback that is logical, thoughtful, and attentive to my concerns. More often than not, I find that Maggie’s active listening and attention to detail allow her to identify connections I may not have noticed and come to innovative solutions. Since meeting Maggie 3 years ago, I have learned that she never sees herself as a “finished product” and that her commitment to learning and developing herself is one of her best qualities. She holds herself to high standards, and expects the same from others. You might assume that she would be impossible to please because her standards are so high. Actually, though, the opposite is true- Maggie genuinely enjoys coaching and developing people so they are equipped to move towards their highest potential. She communicates areas of growth in a way that excites people to continue learning and she doesn’t discourage people for mistakes, but instead empowers them to move forward better equipped for next time. Maggie is a professional who can handle any situation with grace, make any skill look easy, and connect with anyone in the room, no matter how shy they are. She is a “once in a lifetime” connection who brings an incredible work ethic, deep thoughtfulness, and a commitment to forward momentum to everything she does. I consider it a privilege to know her and I’d recommend her for any opportunity that she wants to pursue, as she has my full confidence that she will excel in any environment.”
