YES! Taking breaks is key to victory to refresh the mind, break the day up, preserve mental health and energy to rock the remaining part of the day. I actually set break alarms in my calendar as recurring appts to remind me. Love this post. Following!

Remember that every salesperson comes to work for different reasons and every reason is ok. Some come to punch a clock and do a job. Some come to grow and others come to high perform and make bank. Take time to get to know each person on the team, what motivates them, how do they want to be recognized and rewarded. Take note, trace yourself, take an active roll in their success and their way they want to navigate their work world. No two people on your team will need to be managed the same. It's up to you to bring out the best in them, and coach them to the success they never knew they had until you brought it out of them.

Always celebrate the wins. All.The.Wins. Create a grid of the goals and the prize for the goal. It can be something as free as "early out Fridays" or extra PTO. Or it can be a bottle of champagne or a manicure. But be sure to align the prize with the win so it's visual and actual take time to celebrate. Do this as a team or just for yourself.

Constantly looking at data and metrics is important. Data does not lie and is not emotional. Keep it visual, handy, set a calendar appt weekly to review for yourself, your team and regular 1:1s. Review the data and take action, and tweak when glaring data discoveries are made. Analyzing data is important but taking action on the data is where the secret sauce is made.

Always ask for feedback. Do a short 5 question or less survey to your customers once a year asking what can you do more of, what can you be better at, how has their business changed, what's something they need more from you. Be sure to ask them same of your vendors/suppliers. That reciprocal relationship is the only way you can differentiate yourself in the marketplace to your customers so treat your vendors and suppliers with as much respect and responsiveness as your customers.

Keep your goals visual and look at them frequently. Set goals that deliver service to your customers, revenue for your company, and self improvement for your growth. Set short term and long term goals in all 3 buckets. Make them visual. Celebrate each every win, especially the mini wins.
