Marie is a well-rounded chemical engineer and has worked in the energy, utilities, and environmental sectors. Marie’s early career was spent gaining valuable hands-on experience by working in operations and project management in basic and specialty chemical manufacturing facilities. Next, She worked as Environmental Technology Sales Manager in the US, helping customers reduce SOx, NOx, and particulate matter in the refining, petrochemical, and power generation sectors. In 2007, she returned to project management where she led product development programs for coal gasification. Marie joined KBR late 2009 as Chief Technology Engineer, Utilities in the Project Definition group working on process design for refining, LNG, and chemical plant FEED projects. In 2019, she moved to KBR's Plant Services Group as Training and Reliability Manager. She also has quality and compliance skills. She is six sigma green belt, root cause, and GE project management certified.
Marie is a diversity and STEM champion and has extensive non-profit experience. Active in the Society of Women Engineers throughout her career, Marie has held all Treasurer positions in SWE, rising to national Treasurer and CFO while serving on the national board of directors. She was responsible for budgeting, financial oversite, and supervising 2 accounting staff members at headquarters. Marie enhanced this experience by chairing the audit committee and recently the ethics committee. In addition, she has served on the Education Foundation of Harris County, San Jacinto College Engineering Drafting Advisory Board, and Texas A&M University Academics Advisory Board. She also has experience working with scholarships, awards, and executing programs.
