How can you use tone of voice to reinforce brand identity?
When you meet someone, what do you remember most? Yes, the words of their greeting but you also recall the tone of their words. Were they friendly? Did they project warmth? Did you feel welcomed and understood? To be credible, a corporate brand's tone of voice needs to emulate the tone of voice used by the buyers of that company's products or services to be relevant and understood by them. Here are three things to do to establish an effective tone of voice for your brand: 1. Gain a deep understanding of your buyers, their needs, and how they talk with each other. 2. Based on what you learn, craft an initial brand tone of voice. Validate it with current customers. 3. Finalize a tone of voice brand standard and apply it in all marketing.
