Marta Segura

Founded in 1976, the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) is uniquely dedicated to electing municipal leadership throughout Los Angeles County to preserve, protect and enhance the environment. LALCV has helped elect more than 100 pro-environment officials across the county. LALCV endorsements are determined by its all-volunteer Board, which is composed of L.A. County residents committed to advancing environmental priorities.

Vision: Southern California Leadership Network envisions a more dynamic, prosperous region and state led by informed collaborative, inspired, diverse and capable leaders.

Mission: We advance the region and state by inspiring, preparing and connecting leaders to drive change.

As a city planning commissioner, I approve development projects for city of LA, direct sustainable and strategic growth for the City of LA, and also pass law and policy. We are the only policy development commission at the City of LA.

Appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti to serve as an environmental and climate advisor to the CAC at MTA.

OUR MISSION IS TO CATALYZE A GLOBAL SOLUTION TO THE CLIMATE CRISIS BY MAKING URGENT ACTION A NECESSITY ACROSS EVERY LEVEL OF SOCIETY. As a volunteer, I have formed a committee at my son's high school to fully integrate sustainability practices, curriculum and education and catalyze the school into climate leadership and mentoring students and teachers to become part of the Climate Solution.

Climate change is driving migration around the world. But the same leaders denying climate change are the ones drumming up fear and hatred against migrants. By preying on racism, or the real danger that policies like carbon taxes hurt the poor, migration and climate action are both issues that can be used to pit working class people against each other. Local municipalities and States have more power than our Federal Government at this moment in time to create the systems change we need.… Show more

I raised necessary funds, coordinated safety, transportation, and other needed permits to walk PCH to local refineries in the South Bay for the April 29th Peoples Climate March in LA. Coordinated with EJ, labor, and Environmental groups to build a strong presence. Jane Fonda, Senator De Leon, and Congressmember Barragan were there along with our EJ organizations and AIM to speak to our marchers and deliver the program. The… Show more

This grant will fund rural and urban organizations working at the intersection of environmental, racial, and economic justice to create sustainable, self-determined and just communities.
