I have been helping prepare high school students for the annual High School Computer Competition at the National Black Data Processing Associates conference. We meet every Saturday morning for 4 hours at Washington High School for Technology in Milwaukee. I've been focussed on teaching the students HTML, PHP and SQL within the context of how to develop a Web application. The students also learn various 21st Century skills, the history of the BDPA organization and various topics in Computing…
I have been helping prepare high school students for the annual High School Computer Competition at the National Black Data Processing Associates conference. We meet every Saturday morning for 4 hours at Washington High School for Technology in Milwaukee. I've been focussed on teaching the students HTML, PHP and SQL within the context of how to develop a Web application. The students also learn various 21st Century skills, the history of the BDPA organization and various topics in Computing. 2014 was our very first year in the competition and we took home 14th place and the chapter earned "Come Back Chapter of the Year".
