The key to impactful data visualization is simplicity. If you can answer the following questions, you can deliver a meaningful presentation. What is the outcome that you are trying to achieve via the presentation? What does your audience care about? What is the story that you are trying to tell? What are the data points required to tell that story? Start with the outcome that you want to achieve and then work backwards from there. Data visualization should be simple to understand, compelling, and in service of the desired outcome of the presentation. If the audience cannot make sense of it at a glance, you will lose their attention quickly. So focus on delivering a message concisely that will resonate with your audience.
