You're managing a remote team of strangers. How do you build camaraderie and teamwork effectively?
Practices I've found helpful in my experiences: - During regular virtual team meetings, implement a series of open ended questions that each team member answers. Overtime this allows the team to get to know each other professionally and personally. Example questions: "What is one win or one challenge you encountered this week?" - Complete a "User Manual Exercise" where each team member writes a 'user manual' of how to best interact with them. Examples: "I prefer slack or team messages over email". "I prefer emails for tasks and slack for questions". - Create an environment of information sharing on slack or teams

Your team is facing communication challenges. How can you empower hesitant members to speak up?
One of the most crucial factors in creating an environment for open communication is psychological safety. Additionally, I've found it helpful to ensure there are a variety of methods and mediums for people to share which address different communication styles: one on one, small group, larger group, anonymous/not anonymous forms and surveys, or"snowball" exercises. When implementing a variety of methods, it's important to layout the goal of information gathering prior to the exercises and it's equally important to share the results so that everyone feels heard. When encouraging more junior or newer team members, it's helpful to provide past examples of how feedback has impacted the team, org, or process.

Your team is at odds over project priorities. How can you bring everyone to a consensus?
In my experience, it's been helpful to have an open forum to layout all the different priorities. It is important to document these visually so all stakeholders have an overview. Then a decision making matrix or ranking system can be implemented using different factors such a scale, size, reach, impact, value, effort, or time as examples.
