    Civil Rights and Social Action

    Soccer is not only the planet’s favorite sport – it’s also one of the most powerful vehicles for positive social change. In the trip to Costa Rica we used soccer to tackle the social issues of gender equality. I was able to meet with women from indigenous communities, hear their stories and struggles, and grow from the knowledge transfer.

As Chair, I was single point of contact for the gala committee, responsible for recruiting gala volunteers, holding monthly gala committee meetings, securing all donations and auction items, coordinating delivery for all donations and items to gala location week of event, set up and breakdown. I was the Chair for three years in a row 2010-2012. On going volunteer work at ARMHC…
