Make sure you look at the whole picture and not just the response. For example, if last time you got a large response from something and paid x dollars to get that response and this time you got half the response but also spent half the money or less, then did you really fail?

Spot on! You have to go into things knowing that even the most successful campaigns will have an element of failure that can be learned from and optimized next time. To me, that’s part of the “chase” and what makes it exciting and think it’s so important to ingrain that same thinking into your team!

I think this is so key. Far more important than the actual content being delivered in a lot of ways. If you don't feel that your leadership is genuinely passionate about the business and your success as a member of the team, it's hard to resonate with the content, even if the content is excellent. Continually shocked by the CEOs (and other C-suite members) that are very clearly smart, savvy, and many other key qualities but are like wet noodles on stage

I think the key is really honing in on the "telling authentic stories part". Shouldn't be hard if you're genuinely passionate about helping people and looking to tell stories about that. If your sole goal is all selfish and trying to make sales, rather than to "share the good news", then you are going to have a hard time accomplishing that

Completely agree with "manage your mindset". Flip the script on yourself and realize how fortunate you are to have been selected to speak in the first place and that it's not about you. It's about THEM! So, don't be self-centered and focus on the fact that you are speaking to them for a reason and just speak from the heart. Plus, even if you say something different than you had planned in your head, the audience has no idea what you were "going to say" they only hear what you said, so say it with confidence.

Follow up with them and follow up with them in a way that inspires future connection rather than expects it from them. It is up to your team to go through the interactions and look at/talk through what the interaction was and then bucket the follow-up accordingly. There are those that (hopefully) very clearly asked for a follow-up while at the booth and others that just let you scan their badge and had a nice conversation together. Those two are not equal and should not be treated as self. Both meaningful, but don't go after the "badge scanner" in a way that assumes they want the follow-up. Share information you think would be helpful and of interest to them, connect with them, and hopefully it will turn into them asking for more
