Project oversight for the design team that included weekly coordination with the design manager, design project engineer, and officer in charge throughout design and construction from inception through completion, including project reviews and coordination with the client. Part of the design-build team involved in the design of both civil and building elements associated with the first phase of major upgrades. The project involves multiple construction packages to improve existing buildings, build new buildings, build a new parking structure, rebuild roadways and other precursor projects. The city approved a $513 million contract with the design-build team to manage Phase 1 under a progressive contracting mechanism. One major component of work was design and post design of the access roadway system which included new roads and bridges including removal of portions of Terminal C allowing the roadway in front of Terminals B and C to be straightened and widened and increased curb space for passenger drop-off and pick-up. Another roadway improvement is a Terminal A bypass loop to allow traffic not destined for Terminal A to turn off Airport Boulevard onto Terminal Drive without navigating past Terminal A. Roadway improvements are valued at $150 million. [11/09/2006-06/03/2008]
