As electrification of the transportation sector gains traction, numerous challenges and opportunities arise. Just as TREIA was there to help shape policy and market dynamics during the inception of the wind and solar energy markets in Texas, here too there is a great need for thoughtful leadership. As electrification of the transportation sector gains traction, numerous challenges and opportunities arise. Just as TREIA was there to help shape policy and market dynamics during the inception of the wind and solar energy markets in Texas, here too there is a great need for thoughtful leadership. Facing a projected market saturation of 30% of the transportation fleet by 2030, it is imperative that the impacts on the energy distribution network and the addition of an enormous amount of charging infrastructure be implemented with forethought and care.

With a focus on how to best prepare and integrate this evolution of the transportation sector, TREIA is building a team of Public and Private sector leaders to explore and guide the development of infrastructure and policy for E-Mobility. To that end we have formed the e-Mobility Working Committee to build consensus among all the stakeholders that will be impacted to ensure that the market is developed in a pragmatic way.

Conducted extensive market research to demonstrate to funding partner expansive scope of wood pellet biomass market, qualifying through numerous 3rd party sources consistent potential for 50% year on year growth for US export market. Helped negotiate mill siting with numerous municipal EDCs and rail carrier to coordinate optimized mill siting placement for maximized economic and transport efficiency yield. Worked to coordinate long term off-take contracts with major US and EU brokerages, as well as direct off-take with end-users to help mitigate supply chain and market risk.

The Butler Firm was blessed with the opportunity to work on a rare hybrid renewable project over the last few months in the US island territory of Guam. A combination Wind/Solar project that was both a very creative technology mix, as well as an intriguing legal challenge. Though the two leading technologies in the renewable industry are nothing new to the Firm, building contract documents that appropriately and accurately capture the respective roles and outputs created unforeseen challenges. Luckily Phillip Dehart, the firms leading contractual language author, took the challenge as a rare opportunity to create a platform that succinctly protected the client’s ability to implement, the financiers investment, and the utilities desired production.

With the majority of the substantive terms already agreed to, and the final documents moving into execution and approval by the local PUC, The Butler Firm has enabled it’s clients to realize their creative vision, and facilitated an innovative solution that is both bankable and executable. We are proud to offer our skills and abilities to our clients, and are prepared to work side by side with them to blaze new trails as we work together to build our industry together.

Assembling a team of technicians and myself as the sole auditor, we completed replacement of over 230 HVAC systems, 212 furnaces and building envelope sealing for the entire campus. Once the entire retrofit was complete, another team went in to validate that all the measures were properly installed. The entire project realized over $700K in savings for the retiree residents in the first year alone.
