I have been on this journey for almost 44 years, beginning at Miami-Dade Junior College in 1972. I briefly went back in 2002 and again in August of 2013, finally completing my degree at Keiser University on July 30, 2016. So, for the last 3 years, I have given up most of my nights, weekends and holidays, all in an effort to finish what I started.

I want to publicly thank my wife Tammy and kids for putting up with all of my ups and downs while I managed this effort, and the time they lost of me along the way.

My degree focuses on Marketing and Management and I can now proudly say at 61 years old I am a Keiser University graduate!

We are a voluntary membership organization that serves as the national voice for the sector. Today, approximately 500 campuses across the nation are represented through their school’s membership.

We are the schools who equip students with career skills – from allied health and nursing to mechanics, welding and the trades, culinary, cosmetology, truck driving and beyond!

Our schools offer programs ranging from diploma and credential through Associate, Baccalaureate, and beyond. Over half the schools in the sector are less than 2-year programs and our membership reflect this same ratio.

Most CECU member institutions participate in federal student financial assistance programs under Title IV of the Higher Education Act. In order to participate, they must be licensed by the state in which they are located, accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body, and approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Many CECU member schools and colleges also participate in other federal, state and local education and workforce training programs.

The goal of The Student Inquiry Compliance Taskforce is to create a comprehensive best practices marketing and compliance document that will protect and empower students, educate school members to the inner-workings of the third-party lead generation business, and make education leadership aware of demands that the Federal Trade Commission is placing on the advertisers as the FTC has outlined in its settlement with Career Education Corporation. The finished best practices document will provide education leaders with the information and tools necessary to evaluate and manage third-party vendors, prepare them to better comply with marketing laws and regulations, and give them more control over the information that their prospective students receive.
