    Assistant project engineer for demolition of an existing parking structure and construction of a ten floor highrise office building in downtown Dayton. Paul was responsible for assisting in the layout of foundations, walls, columns, and anchor bolts for the steel structure. The accelerated schedule of this project required a modified submittal process for both types of contracts which streamlined the process and required constant communication and coordination between the design teams, management team, and client. Paul was responsible for assisting in QC/QA checks as well as coordinating between design teams and various agency personnel.

This project included coordination between both the state of Illinois and Indiana through a joint memorandum using a fast track delivery. The Tier II EIS team was tasked with refining the preferred corridor carried forward from the Tier I FEIS and ROD. Multiple alternatives within the preferred corridor were identified, designed and carried forward for analysis within the Tier II EIS. Preliminary contract documents were also prepared to support a future Public-Private Partnership. Paul was responsible for horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway modeling, pavement markings, and roadway geometry including multiple overpasses and two diamond interchanges. Paul also assisted in coordination of subconsultants, QC/QA checks, design calculations, quantities, and the creation of Interchange Type Studies, Interchange Design Studies, and Access Control Plans. In addition, Paul transitioned to the role of roadway discipline lead and assured plan and calculation quality control for the Illiana Tier II EIS. Paul managed 9 design segments as they developed the preferred alignment based on environmental and topographic surveys for this 47 mile corridor through rural terrain. The segments include seven service interchanges and three system interchanges.
