Critical thinking ability is crucial for success in almost any role, but particularly in Venture Capital. On any given day a VC may be asked to perform a variety of different functions including, but not limited to, financial analysis, business development, portfolio management, fundraising, deal negotiation, modeling, pitching, and more. The best in the industry are able to think critically about each of these functions and transition almost seamlessly between them. If you want to improve your critical thinking skills try making a habit of the following: 1. Listen Actively 2. Become a self-critic 3. Analyze information 4. Ask more questions 5. Communicate to understand, not overtake.
