An actionable customer Insight provides information and a plan of action for business users to strategically increase the customer value through better product offerings, services, marketing activities, and contact points.

    The main business objective to achieve actionable customer insight is to increase the customer lifetime value (CLV) of all customers. There are many ways to develop this actionable customer insight. One way is to categorize customers in behaviorally similar groups and then to understand the characteristics of those groups. Once these characteristics are understood, a deeper understanding of why this behavior is exhibited would help predict future behavior and also allow certain contact points to influence favorable future outcomes.

    In this discussion, we explore a 4 step process of developing a customer insight and making it “actionable” to provide maximum value to the customers and at the same time, making your customers most valuable to your company. These four simple steps are also depicted in the Figure 1 below:
