Neal Finkelstein, Ph.D.

Dr. Finkelstein is the longest serving member on the Team Orlando Board of Directors. Holding steadfast to their single goal of improving human performance through simulation, Team Orlando is a unique collaborative alliance formed by U.S. leading military modeling simulation training commands, and supplemented, supported and augmented by academic and industry leaders in the modeling and simulation, human performance and training domains.

Florida’s High Tech Corridor spans 23 counties across the state, connected by three research universities, more than 20 local and regional economic development organizations, 14 community and state colleges, 12 regional workforce boards, countless industry groups and the thousands of innovative companies that call this region home.

Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics, is the key to our future careers. STEM encompasses almost everything in our daily lives. How we eat, communicate; solve problems, where we live, virtually all of the things we are exposed to, have been developed with a foundation of STEM knowledge. Think of the games we play after school: WII, Hlo, XBOX, how were these created? Will you be the creator of the Next Big Thing?

Faculty Scholar at the UCF Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) lecturing in classes, serving on Thesis and Dissertation Boards and mentoring students..

Serving for over a decade as a member of the Governor of Florida Defense Alliance Working Group as a liaison to the Modeling and Simulation Community in Central Florida.

Florida Polytechnic University currently is establishing their founding Board of Directors. I am serving as a member to kick-off this inititiative to grow the University.

Army Research Laboratory (ARL), NASA Kennedy Space Center, the Veterans Administration
(VA) Simulation Learning Center (SimLearn) and Universal Studios. Combining a program to
capture students attention in four fields/industries; military modeling and simulation, space,
medical, and entertainment. ARL-O is focused on maturing modeling and simulation
technologies such as: virtual reality, augmented reality, mobile, intelligent tutors, cloud
computing, human-robot teams, and medical simulation. If you have ever played a video
game, maybe a multi-player game, saw from a bird’s eye view a strategy game, been in a
simulator, seen a hologram or seen individuals or teams work with robots, then you have
an idea of what we do. We employ entertainment principles to physically, mentally and
emotionally immerse Soldiers for the serious job of training by making technology more
user friendly, engaging and effective. This important work has the potential to save the
