Just build stuff people want. Focus on the problem without being biased what the solutions should be. Iteration is far better than building the perfect product.

I think the most under appreciated method is to improve the productivity of your the knowledge workers who are handling these denials, doing appeals and furnishing new information etc. Technologies ls like AI is a tool, but you need to explore this an enhancement to the proven, existing workflows like claims processing or even Prior Auth. One of our health plan customers for example used generative AI to cut 40% time in processing and making decisions on Prior Authorizations, resulting in millions of dollars in cost savings. But it’s important to take into account the context at which technology should be applied.

Startups are all about creating something that didn’t exist before, and is not obvious to most people, on what it is. One of the most important things is to find early believers. When you go around trying to convince people about your great startup idea, remember a few things: - Companies are people, not just products and markets! - Execution >> ideas: what have you done to validate your idea and what have you learned? - How far are you willing to go to make this idea a real business Demonstrate that, and you will have early believers!

One thing I'd say is get in front of people, in person. Zoom calls are very transactional, to develop emotional intelligence and empathy, you need to spend more time in front of people and groups of people. And then, pause, watch, learn. Another hack to start developing emotional intelligence as a leader is thinking of yourself as a coach and servant. You start with learning about others' needs, and you are constantly thinking how to serve/help them with their needs.

First, build for global, and hyper-configure for local. For driving international approach, you need to first have a platform (product, brand, offering) that will scale, and then you have to hyper customize it to that local markets - A great example is the Shanghai Disneyland - it’s very Disney (the platform) but very Chinese in its design, adaptation etc.

The most critical part of the experiment is define the experiment - defining what you are measuring, how do you know if the experiment is successful, and how will you use that data!
