The highlights includes my own experience in leadership and guidelines I used successfully; defining expectations, empowering the team, providing initial support and feedback throughout the relationship. Communication that is meaningful with sincerity is also important. In addition, learning to demonstrate and accept different leadership styles is important. Relating to your team on a personal experience level also let's them know you have been where they are. Overall, learning to be an effective leader is a daily experience, be open to seeing things differently.

  • Delegating From a Distance

    Banfield Journal

Article highlights the art of multi-unit distance leadership. It is important to hire the right people for locations and allow them to manage. As a distance multi- unit manager, we must empower the facility leaders to lead. Distance leaders will coach and mentor these leaders via electronic mediums along with onsite visits. Most important message: allow local leaders to lead, provide proper training for them and get out of their way!
