How can you improve your knowledge of sustainable fashion?
Our knowledge of sustainable fashion can be improved by connecting with and joining groups and organizations that are actively investigating the issue worldwide and sharing what they are finding. Sustainable fashion is oftentimes used in a very broad term and could actually mean a lot and is integrity based but it can also mean absolutely nothing of substance. The concept of sustainable fashion has to be more than just a play on words, consumers must have an understanding of the concept that goes beyond just consumerism.

How can you pivot your small business career to stay relevant?
As a small business owner I like to know what's going on in my industry now, so I stay relevant by researching articles online, collaborating with other business owners in the field to experience what they are doing and joining networks and organizations. I'm always looking for a class or two to take or attend discussing subjects that are relevant as well. Everyday, I welcome the opportunity to learn something new about what I do.

What are the best strategies for startups to maintain a competitive edge as they scale up?
It was vital for me as once a startup to always be willing to change and alter my initial vision of how I thought or wanted to do business. Embracing the journey of the ups and downs helped to define who and what my business is today. Always be open to new ideas, manage money wisely, network often and be grateful for every client, success and even the negative things that taught you a lesson and moved you to improvement.

How can you use your social influence to promote sustainable fashion?
I use my social media platforms to help consumers understand the truth of the negative impact that fast fashion has on people and our planet from perspectives not often shared or talked about to include health, sustainability and investment of wellbeing. The future of society hinges on turning the industry upside down and going back to the basics of the utilization of natural fibers, the reduction of overconsumption and our overall attitude of how we as individuals value our own self worth and confidence in the ability to make better choices in how we spend our money. Making the decision to not be led by industry trends and marketing campaigns defining how we should behave and what we should wear is power we need to own.
