An Introduction to the Nexus Framework
-
Nexus is a framework that drives to the heart of scaling: cross-team dependencies and integration issues. It is an exoskeleton that rests on top of multiple Scrum Teams who work together to create an Integrated Increment. It builds on the Scrum framework and values.
-
Cross-Team Refinement at Scale
-
Teams in a Nexus need to be involved in a shared Refinement event, because Refinement is focused on decomposing Product Backlog Items (PBIs) enough so that the teams can understand which work they could deliver and in what sequence over upcoming Sprints. The event also allows the teams to focus on minimizing and removing dependencies between teams.

Evidence Based Management Guide for Software Organizations

The Nexus Integration Team
-
The Nexus Integration Team is a new role that is essential within the Nexus framework.
-
Visualizing the Nexus Sprint Backlog
-
When many Scrum Teams plan together without structure, chaos can ensue. It is important to facilitate a planning event in a structured way in order to translate the information from Refinement into an effective plan for the next Sprint to be leveraged by all teams in the Nexus.
