The summer movie season is officially upon us and press and consumers alike are buzzing about the most anticipated films to hit the big screen this year. “A year later, a lot has changed, including new partnerships with many industry players including Visa and MasterCard to give our customers even more ways to conveniently pay and get paid, no matter where they are or what funding source they’d like to use,” Patrick Adams, head of North American consumer marketing at the e-commerce company, tells AdFreak

Let’s face it. It can be tough holiday shopping for the babysitter, a picky relative or that friend who already has everything. A recent PayPal study* found that money is the number one gift Americans want this holiday season, and 62 percent wish they could ask for cash instead of traditional holiday presents. But, the study also found that the main reason people don’t give money as a gift is because they’re afraid it’s not personal enough (63 percent).

“With more people asking for gifts – and giving money – via P2P payments this holiday season, we needed to find a way to make it personal,” says Patrick Adams, CMO of PayPal North America. “Our partnership with Jonathan is unlike anything we’ve ever done, and helps consumers stress less. His unique holiday card designs make sending money easy and fashionable – something that gift cards and traditional holiday cards simply don’t provide.”

With lots of peer-to-peer money apps out there, PayPal is hoping customizable cards will help distinguish it from competitors. "It's always great to stand out in the marketplace," Patrick Adams, CMO for PayPal North America, told Fast Company. He also thinks e-cards will prove popular year-round.
