    Master's project focused on weblogs and journalism. It was published in three parts by SPJ's Quill Magazine (March 2005, April 2005 and August 2005).

    Also wrote a chapter of the published book "Media Bias: Finding It, Fixing It" published in 2007 by McFarland & Company and edited by Wm. David Sloan and Jenn Burleson MacKay.

  • Attended this college for my freshman year before transferring to Appalachian State University for the last three years of my undergraduate studies.

    During my two semesters at Fort Lewis College, I held a 4.0 GPA and experienced life outside of Appalachia. Also, I expanded my love of the outdoors with an intense regimen of hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and, of course, snowboarding.

    I've also assisted with various field sessions, and helped coordinate testing and class planning. In addition, I've lectured on the topic of trad gear, placements, and racking as well as crack climbing.

    I wrote the responsive, front-end code (HTML, SASS/CSS, JS) and crafted the digital strategy for user engagement.

    I developed this web app using the Python framework Flask to allow ad hoc purchases of the Sunshine energy drink. The app is built around the concept of purchasing Sunshine for others, and uses Stripe for payment processing. I used Bootstrap and Bourbon for front-end development.

    I led The Variable's transition from a static, challenging-to-update, website to one backed by a custom content management system fronted by a true responsive design.

    The CMS was written in Python using Django with an Apache/PostgreSQL stack. Front-end development was deftly handled by coworker John Peele.
