Trinity Episcopal Church is actively engaged in local and regional services to the elderly, children and the disadvantaged. Trinity hosts a daycare/preschool for the disadvantaged, accumulates bags of groceries for those families monthly, collects and distributes books to children, cooks and feeds up to 100+ in Waukegan, IL on a rotating basis, etc.

The Vestry of an Episcopal church are like their board of directors--responsible for the mechanics of running the church. The Warden's role is like that of a Chairman of the Board in that they lead the Vestry. Show less

The North Shore Yacht Club works to improve safety of boating activities on Lake Michigan, and to educate the public on the proper use of various types of water craft, including Stand-Up Paddle Boards, Kayaks, Sunfish, Buccaneers, and out-board motor boats. We work in conjunction with the Park District and City government on improvement and conservation topics. As a member of the board of directors, I'm responsible for the organization's non-profit budget, stewardship of its resources, and creating , revising, and promoting policies and procedures for the organization. I moved the membership database and fee collection system on-line to improve access to the data, make the data collection user-driven, and to allow for self-service by qualified members. As a member, I help conduct sailing classes, and assist with the high school youth sailing program, in addition to other conservation and improvement activities. Show less
