Result: The effort proved both challenging and worthwhile.

· Critical business data errors were discovered and corrected (GTIN/UPC)
· More challenges were identified with an eye to future resolution
· A "core" data set is now in place
· Successful implementation of Google Manufacturer Center

This project is ongoing with the long view of efficient data interchange and integrations between business partners and 3rd party services.

This project entailed rapidly groking a new platform - for myself, coming from an .Net/ASP.Net/Windows architecture, into a RoR, non-Windows platform, and successfully, seamlessly, integrating technologies such as JSON-LD and microdata markup within the first ~60 days.

Engaged the team in site-wide optimization efforts - refactoring legacy CSS, Javascript, image spriting.

As part of the optimization work, deployed automation software (C#) to handle optimization of ~70k images, from legacy files onward, without impacting resources nor disrupting workflows. Long view plug and play.

Concrete results of this ongoing project (Pagespeed Insights):
• Mobile score raised from 44 to 72
• Desktop score raised from 16 to 87
• Page load times reduced from ~4 secs to ~2 secs
• Page size reduced from ~8M to ~2M
• No of page requests reduced from ~200 to ~80
